All bookings made through Smart Service Trips are subject to the fare rules, terms, and conditions imposed by the operating airline or travel supplier, in addition to the service terms of Smart Service Trips. Most discounted airfares are non-refundable and non-transferable.

2. Cancellation Process

1. Verify your identity and booking details
2. Explain applicable fare rules and cancellation penalties
3. Calculate the refund amount (if any)
4. Process the cancellation with the airline

3. Refund Structure

When a cancellation is eligible for a refund, the amount is calculated as follows:

Refund = (Total Amount Paid) − (Airline Cancellation Penalty) − (Smart Service Trips Service Fee) − (Non-refundable Taxes/Fees)

Typical Airline Cancellation Penalties

• Basic Economy / Lowest Fare: Usually 100% non-refundable
• Standard Economy: $100 – $400 per passenger, varies by airline and route

4. Smart Service Trips Service Fee

Our service fees are non-refundable once a booking is ticketed. This includes:

• Initial booking service fee
• Cancellation processing fee (typically $50 – $75 per passenger)
• Refund processing fee (applied when a refund is issued)

5. Refund Timelines

• Credit Card Refunds: 7 to 20 business days from the date the refund is initiated, depending on your card issuer
• Airline Processing: Airlines typically take 4 to 12 weeks to release funds back to Smart Service Trips
• Bank/Wire Refunds: Up to 30 business days

We do our best to expedite refunds, but final timing depends on airline and bank processing cycles.

6. Non-Refundable Tickets

Most deeply-discounted fares are non-refundable. For such tickets, cancellation typically results in one of the following outcomes:

• No refund — Ticket value is forfeited
• Travel credit — The airline issues a credit (minus change fees) valid for a limited period, usually 12 months from original booking date
• Taxes only — A partial refund limited to government taxes and unused airport fees

7. Airline-Initiated Cancellations

If your flight is cancelled by the airline (e.g., due to schedule changes, operational reasons, or weather), you may be entitled to:

• A full refund of the airfare, or
• Rebooking on the next available flight at no additional cost, or
• A travel credit for future use

9. No-Show Policy
